Koei Tecmo has given Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy a release date as well as more details. Fans will be able to enjoy the new adventure on January 26, 2021. Meanwhile, we learned about some new characters. Zephine Baudouin runs the request bulletin board where citizens can post their jobs for Ryza and her friends to complete. In addition, we’ll have Dennis Holland who is a talented blacksmith and engraver; Romy Vogel, the shopkeeper and former acquaintance from Kurken Island; and Cassandra Cappelli, a farmworker whose father owns an obscene amount of fruitful land inside the Royal Capital’s Farming District.
Also, it was revealed that battle parties will include 3 members plus an additional sub-member. During battles, “all heroes will now be aided in the game’s exhilarating real-time tactics battles[.]” Party members will build up Action Points and Core Charge. Action Points allows players to use multiple skills in a row with Skill Chains. Skill Chains also build up your Core Charge. As you use your skills, you’ll fill up your gauge and eventually level up your Tactics Level. An increased Tactics Level leads to your basic attacks hitting more often and your Action Points are gained quicker.
Atelier Ryza 2 is releasing on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5 on January 26, 2021. If you pre-order the physical copy of the PS5 version from select retailers, you’ll gain the bonus “Beware of Puni!” and “Blue Puni Costume” t-shirt DLC to give Ryza a new look. All players who purchase the game in the first two weeks will get a code for the Summer Fashion Costume Set.
