Disney has released the first trailer for its upcoming family-adventure film Flora & Ulysses, which is based on Kate DiCamillo’s children’s book of the same name. The story centers around a young girl and a superhero squirrel that she rescues.
The film centers on, 10-year-old Flora, “an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated. After rescuing a squirrel she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique superhero powers, which take them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora’s life–and her outlook–forever.”
This is definitely a different kind of superhero film, and it looks like it will be an enjoyable and charming film. Disney is definitely taking advantage of its relationship with Marvel for this movie. Marvel Comics are heavily utilized in the trailer that was released.
The cast for the film is led by newcomer Matilda Lawler, and she is joined by Alyson Hannigan, Ben Schwartz, Anna Deavere Smith, Danny Pudi, Benjamin Evans Ainsworth, Janeane Garofolo, and Kate McCucci.
Flora & Ulysses was directed by Lena Khan and produced by Gil Netter. The movie will be available to watch on Disney+ on Friday, February 19, 2021. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
